Frequently asked questions
The details,
before the decision.
Answers to the eight questions on our current website, organized around your project.
May I supply my own fabric?
Yes. Inspect supplied fabric as it comes off the bolt. Only fabric purchased from us is guaranteed free of flaws.
Why remove the old fabric first?
Old coverings can let new fabric slide and wear faster. Old soiling can also move through padding. Removing it supports a cleaner, crisper finish.
Where is the work done?
Everything stays in our secure, smoke-free Charlotte facility. We do not outsource. You are welcome to visit and see the work; call to arrange it. Texture, composition, pattern repeat, and matching all matter.
Can you work from my design or a photograph?
Yes. Email an image or bring your idea. Ask about a sample or mock-up to understand proportions before fabrication and make revisions where needed.
Do you deliver or ship outside North Carolina?
We provide personal delivery locally and ship custom pieces out of state. Call for pricing and shipping details.
How does your custom furniture differ from a store-bought piece?
Kiln-dried hardwood, corner blocks, double doweling, screws, glue, and individual eight-way hand-tied springs where applicable. Quality thread, foam, cotton, and Dacron matter too. Ask us about the construction of your piece.
Can you replace cushions without reupholstering everything?
Yes. Choose custom spring-down inserts or foam with Dacron wrapping. Our site advertises same-day foam replacement; call to confirm availability for your cushions.
Is an older family piece worth restoring?
Often. Depending on its frame, we may be able to change the shape as well as the upholstery. Discuss its structure and your goals before deciding.
